Act Margaret Ker Spouse to John Hood

Anent the petitione given in to The Lords of his majesties privie Counsell be Margaret Kerr Spouse to John Hood Sometyme in Mersingtoun Liferentrix of The Lands of Whitelaw Shewing That wher the saids Lords by ther former act allowed the petitioner and aliment of five hundereth merks yeirly out of the Lands of Whitelaw belonging to me in liferent by decease of her husband2 And ordained Thomas Hood son and assigney to John Hood now her husband and the tacksemen tenents and possessors therof to make payment therof to the petitioner in maner mentioned in the said act And seing the tack sett formerly to the said Mr Mark Dwncansone be the said John and Thomas Hoods Is now expyred and that the saids John and Thomas Hoods intents to lay the saids Lands waiste of purpose to frustrat the petitioner of her aliment and to make her anserable unles the saids Lords of privie Counsell grant warrand to the petitioner and her assigney to sett tacks of the saids Lands Dureing her life or for what yeirs She Shall think fitt in maner and in the termes that She can best agrie with the tenents for that effect And therfore humbly craveing to the effect eftermentioned As the said petitione be as Which being this day red and considered be the saids Lords of privie Counsell They heirby grant warrand to the petitioner and her assigneyes to sett tacks of the foirsaids Lands of Whitelaw Dureing all the dayes of her lifetyme and for so many yeirs and to such tenents as the petitioner and her assigneyes can best agrie for the saids tacks being allwayes void at the first terme of Whittsonday efter the petitioners decease And that for payment of such tack duety as they can best obtaine for the same being allwayes such ane tack duety as the said Mr Mark Dwncansone the former tacksman was in use to pay And the said tack to comence and begine at whittsonday next to come
