Warrant

Warrand to seize Corne and Hay and strawe for the use of the Armie

The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill doe Hereby appoynt and requyre Sir James Oswald of Fingaltoune Sir George Hamilton of Barnetoune and James Dunlop Collector at Borroustouness Commissars of the Armie To search for hay, corne and straw where the same can be Had in any place about the places where his Majesties Troops shall happen at this tyme to be quartered and to buy upon present payment such quantities thereof as they shall stand in need of for the armies use at the ordinarie rates of the Countrey not exceeding ten pound scots as the pryce of the boll of Corne with the straw at most and in Case the persons havers of the said hey Corne and straw shall refuise to sell Then authorizes the said Commissars at sight and with assistance of the shirriff of the shyre or his deputs to seize upon and carry away the same upon present payment of the pryces foresaid to the persones from whom the same shall be seized.
