Report anent Heretors and fencible men in Ayrshyre and Kelburne

The Lord Justice Clerk haveing acquainted the Councill That he had a letter from Craufurd of Kilburnie anent the meeting of the Heretors and fencible men in the shyre of Ayre that they were weell mett and most willing to serve the Government for kirk and State, and that He and the Laird of Kelburne his brother in Law had resolved each to mentaine fyve hundred men for the present exigence upon their owne expences for the space of fourtie dayes The Councill recomended to the Lord Justice Clerk To returne the Councills thanks to Kilbirnie and the other Gentlemen and Heretors of the said shyre of Ayre for their Care and forewardness in doeing service to the Government
