Comittie anent Chiftains and Clanns

The Lords of his majesties privie Councill hereby2 nominats and appoynts the Earles of Argyle and Kintore The Lord Justice Clerk Lord Fountonhall Laird of Grant and Sir Thomas Livingstoune Commander in Cheiff of his majesties forces within this Kingdome To be a Committie for considering the acts of parliament made anent the Chiftaines of Clanns in the Highlands their finding Cautione to keep the peace and how these Chiftaines are to be ceitted and called whether by way of Lybell or otherwayes and upon how many dayes and what course is to be followed when their is not tutus accessus to their dwelling places and what else doe concerne this affaire And declairs any three of the foresaid persones to be a sufficient quorum and Recomends to them to meet this afternoon at four of the Cloak and to report their 3 oppinion in the whole matter to the Councill against their next meeting.
