Proclamation
Proclamation adjourning the parliament being Read the Samen was approven and Signed and appointed to be printed published and Recorded wherof the tenor followes.
Anne by the Grace of God Queen of Great Brittain France and Ireland defender of the faith, To our Lyon King at Armes and his bretheren heraulds; Macers of our privy Councill; pursevants, Messengers at armes our Shirriffs in that part Conjunctllie and Severally Specially Constitute Greetting Forasmuchas by our Letter direct to the Lords of our privy Councill of the Nynteinth of March last and our proclamation following theron upon the twenty fourth of the said moneth This our Current parliament was Adjourned till the twenty Sixth of this moneth of May Current upon which day wee were firmly Resolved that it Should have mett But the Multiplicity of Important affairs haveing hindered Us hitherto from dispatching our Commissioner and Servants It is necessary that our said parliament should be yet furder adjourned for a Short Space; Therfore Wee with the advice of the Lords of our privy Councill have Adjourned and hereby Adjourn our said Current parliament from the said Twenty sixth day of May instant to the Nynth day of June nixt to come Requyreing hereby all members therof to attend at Edinburgh the said day in the usuall way and upon the accustomed Certificationes by Law appointed Our Will is Herefore And wee Charge yow Strictly and Command That incontinent thir our Letters Seen yee pass to the Marcat cross of Edinburgh and to the marcat crosses of the remanent head burghs of the severall Shyres and Stewartries within this our ancient kingdome; And therat in our name and authority make publict intimation That our said parliament is adjourned to the said Nynth day of June nixt to come And Ordaines these presents to be printed and published. Letter from the Queen to the Councill for adjourning the parliament being Read the samen was ordered to be recorded wherof the tenor followes
Sic Supra Scribitur Anne Regina
Right trustie and right well beloved Cousin and Councillor Right trustie and intirely beloved Cousins and Councillors Right trusty and right well beloved Cousins and Councillors Right trusty and well beloved Councillors and trusty and well beloved Councillors, Wee greet yow well. Wheras by our Letter to yow of the 19th March last Wee did order the adjournment of our Current parliament till the 26th instant; Wee were firmly resolved it should meett on the said day, But the Multiplicity of Important affairs haveing hindered Us hitherto from dispatching our Servants here Wherby it is necessary that our said parliament Should be yet further adjourned for a short Space It is Therfore our will and pleasure And wee doe hereby authorize and Requyre yow to Issue furth a new proclamation in our name ordering the continuance of the adjournment of our said parliament from the said 26th May instant to the Nynth day of June nixt therafter; And ordering all the members therof to attend that day at Edinburgh in the usuall way and upon the accustomed Certificationes. For doeing wherof this shall be your Warrant And So wee bid yow heartily farewell; Given at our Court at St James’s the 12th day of May 1702 and of our reign the 1st year.
