Letter from the Queen for adjurning the parliament to the 9th June 1702
Letter from the Queen to the Councill for adjourning the parliament being Read the samen was ordered to be recorded wherof the tenor followes

Right trustie and right well beloved Cousin and Councillor Right trustie and intirely beloved Cousins and Councillors Right trusty and right well beloved Cousins and Councillors Right trusty and well beloved Councillors and trusty and well beloved Councillors, Wee greet yow well. Wheras by our Letter to yow of the 19th March last Wee did order the adjournment of our Current parliament till the 26th instant; Wee were firmly resolved it should meett on the said day, But the Multiplicity of Important affairs haveing hindered Us hitherto from dispatching our Servants here Wherby it is necessary that our said parliament Should be yet further adjourned for a short Space It is Therfore our will and pleasure And wee doe hereby authorize and Requyre yow to Issue furth a new proclamation in our name ordering the continuance of the adjournment of our said parliament from the said 26th May instant to the Nynth day of June nixt therafter; And ordering all the members therof to attend that day at Edinburgh in the usuall way and upon the accustomed Certificationes. For doeing wherof this shall be your Warrant And So wee bid yow heartily farewell; Given at our Court at St James’s the 12th day of May 1702 and of our reign the 1st year.
