Procedure

The Councillors and their Clerks present qualified themselves

Proclamation requyreing the oath of alledgance and assurance Contained in ane act of the last Session of parliament to be Sworne and Signed to her Majestie Queen Anne Read and a clause being added to the assurance viz (now takeing upon him the title of King of this realme) It was urged that the Said Clause not being insert in the assurance contained in the said act of parliament It could not be added therto; and after some argueing theron, Whither the Councill could add a clause to the assurance; yea; or not; It went to the vote add the said Clause to the Assurance Subjoyned to the act of parliament; Or not; It was caried add, and the said proclamation being again read; The Samen was voted approven and Signed and ordered to be published and Recorded And therafter a motion being made that all the Councillors and ther Clerks Should Swear the said oath of alledgance and Subscrybe the Samen and the assurance with the addition; The Samen was accordingly done by all the Councillors then present and by their Clerks
