Committy for inquyring anent the Grouth of popery in the North country

The Lord Advocat haveing produced ane letter to the Councill from the moderator of the presbytrie of […] direct to his Lordship anent the grouth of popery in the North Countrey And the Samen being read in their presence The saids Lords of her Majesties privy Councill Doe hereby Nominat and appoint, The Earles of Lauderdale and Forfarr, The Lords Register, Advocat, Aberurchill and the Laird of Meggins to be a Committee to inquyre into the Grouth of popery in the North Countrey and preists and trafiqueing papists their; And to receive in from Sir James Stewart his Majesties Advocat what information his Lordship has received theranent And Recommends to the said Committee to meett the morrow morning at ten a Cloak in the forenoon And declares any two a quorum, and with their first conveniencie to report
