Act Infavours of Mr George Erskine Baillie of Alloa

Annent The petition given in and presented to the Lords of her Majesties privie Councill By Mr George Erskine Baillie of Alloa Shewing That wher Robert Allan late Chamberlain to the Earle of Marr Did upon the Sixth day of February 1701 years preferr a petition to ther Lordship’s Creaving a Gift of the Superplus of the vaccant stipends off Alloa (if any bee) over and above the payment of those appointed by the presbitry to preach at the Church off Alloa As the act Followeing upon the said petition herewith produced bears And seeing these appointed to preach in the said Church have Exhausted the most pairt off the said stipend by payment to them respective Conforme to the Act of Parliament And also that dureing the vaccancy the manse is much Deterioriat And that there wants a barn and seaverall other things in order (at the nixt Ministers Entry) to git ane act of visitation Declairing the manse Free Therfore It is humbly Craved by the Petitioner that after payment off those appointed to preach as said is Their Lordships would grant a gift of the supperplus to the petitioner for his finishing and perfyting those things Contained in the said former Act and for the uses above represented upon the petitioners finding sufficient Caution to bestow the same for the ends above at the sight of the said Earle of Marr And Therfor Creaving to the effect aftermentioned as the said petition bears The Lords of Her Majesties Privie Councill Haveing Considered the Petition into them by Mr George Erskine Baillie of Alloa And the samen Being read in there presence They Doe heirby Grant to the petitioner a Gift of the Superplus of the vacant steipends of Aloa iff any be over and above the payment off those appointed by the presbitry To preach at the Church of Alloa to be applied for building the Dykes of the Ministers manse at Alloa and Toun Bridge and For altering and makeing some of the Streets Which are narrow and Crooked passable And for repairing the manse and building a barn and seaverall other things And Decernes and Ordains The said petition To be readily answered obeyed and payed off the said vaccant stipend By the Heritors, fewers, Woodsetters, Lyferenters, fermers, Titulers, Taxmen of Teinds, Tennents and possessors, and others Lyable in payment off the said stipend And ordaines Letters of Horning under the signet of Councill upon Fyfteen dayes and others needfull To be direct at the said petitioners Instance Against the saids heretors and others forsaids lyble in payment of the saids vaccant steipands upon production of a Decreit of Locality and in caice ther be non Ordaines the saids Heritors and others lyable in payment off the samen To make payment off their respective proportiones therof According as they shall be Decerned by the Judge ordinary To be applyed By the said Petition For the uses mentioned in the petition He allwayes first befoir extracting heirof Giveing Bond and finding sufficient Caution acted in the Books of Privie Councill That he shall uplift and apply the forsaid vaccant steipend for the ends and uses above mentioned and that at the sight of the Earle of Marr.
