Letter from the Queen for Adjurning the parliament to the 6 Aprile nixt

Letter from the Queen to the Councill for Adjourning the parliament to the 6th Aprile nixt Read and ordered to be Recorded wherof the tenor followes
Sic Supra Scribitur Anne Regina
Right trustie and right well beloved Cousin and Councillor; Right trustie and intirely beloved Cousins and Councillors; Right trustie and well beloved Cousins and Councillors; Right trustie and well beloved Councillors; and trustie and well beloved Councillors; Wee greet yow well; Wheras in Consideration of the Just and necessarie Warr wherin wee are at present engadged and of the Treatie of Union betwixt our Kingdomes of Scotland and England in pursuance of acts past in the parliaments of these our kingdomes; Wee judged it necessary ther should be a parliament in being to meet on Such occasiones as may requyre it; And Therfore thought fitt by our proclamation of the Twenty day of August Last to call a parliament of that our ancient kingdome to meet at our city of Edinburgh upon the Twelth day of November nixt Requyreing and Commanding all concerned to be ready and attend our said parliament in the usuall forme; And wee Considering that in many respects it may be convenient to defferr the said meetting and particularly that the Setting on foot and carieing on the said Treatie of Union towards a happie conclussion to be reported to our Said parliament will need a longer time then the day abovementioned; Therfore Wee have thought good to adjourn the meetting of our said parliament from the Said Twelth day of November nixt to the Sixth day of Aprill nixt therafter Willing yow to Emitt a proclamation in our name for that effect and Commanding and chargeing all noblemen officers of State and Commissioners of Shyres and burghs to attend the meetting of our parliament the forsaid Sixth day of Aprill nixt to come to which it is hereby Adjourned under the paines contained in our Lawes made theranent; And So wee bid yow heartily farewell Given at our Court at St James’s the 13th day of October 1702 and of our reigne the first year. By her Majesties Command, Sic Subscribitur Queensberry.
