Att Edinburgh The Sixteinth day of March Jaj viic and two years

Order

Recommendation to the Chancelor anent the two independent Companies and theives taken by them.

The Lord high Chancelor of Scotland haveing produced ane letter from the Earle of Findlator and other Commissioners of the Highland Justiciary to his Lordship, And the Samen being read to the Lords of her Majesties privy Councill They doe hereby Recommend to the said Lord high Chancelor to returne ane answer therto; That the Councill appoints the saids Commissioners to give all due incouradgment to the Captaines of the two independant Companies appointed for apprehending theives Robers, and Sorners, and to receive from the Saids Captaines and other officers all such of the Saids persones as they shall apprehend from time to time, and that they be carefull to Committ and detaine them in safe custodie untill ther tryall, and process be Led against them; And that the said prisoners gett Suitable Sustinance; and be mantained by the Saids Commissioners out of the Emoluments and perquisites of Court Conforme to the power granted to them by the Commission of Justiciary for the Highlands.
