Procedure

Recommendation to Lord Rankeillor and Provest of Edinburgh to enquyre anent the money and bank Notes in Niccoll Spence hand of the Contribution money for Ransomeing Skiper Simpson and Crew

The Lords of her Majesties privy Councill Appoints the money that was Collected and contributed through the kingdome for ransomeing of Skipper Simpson and his Crew in Algeers to be applyed by the Collectors therof for the said end, And if their be any free money in their hands after the said skipper Simpson and his crew are Ransomed, That it be applyed for ransomeing and redeeming of Archibald Turpie Sailler in Dysart And Recommends to the Lord Rankeillor and the provest of Edinburgh to call for Niccoll Spence under Clerk to the assembly and to enquyre into the Fourty pound Sterling bank Note of the said Collection and contribute money that was Lodged in his custody, and if the Samen was brunt in his house with the fire in the Land Marcat And Recommends Likewayes to the Saids two Lords to call for the officers and Thesaurers of the Bank of this kingdome with the Said Nicoll Spence and enquyre how and what way the tenor of the said Fourty pounds Sterling bank note may be made up; And Likewayes Recommends to the Saids Lords to call for the Collectors of the Said Contrabutions and to enquyre at them how and after what maner the Saids Collectiones were applied and whats yet resting therof undisposed of and to report.
