Procedure
Commission In favors of Major Generall Ramsay to be Commander in Cheif
Commission In favors of Major Generall George Ramsay to be Commander in Cheif of her Majesties forces within this kingdome Read, and ordered to be Recorded And the said Major Generall being present in Councill did Swear the Oath of alledgance and Subscrybed the Samen with the assurance; And the Lord Chancelor did tender the Oath de fideli to his excellence.

Anne By the Grace of God Queen of Scotland England France and Ireland defender of the faith etc. To our right trustie and well beloved Major Generall George Ramsay Greetting; Wee Reposeing Speciall trust and confidence in your Loyaltie Courage and good conduct Doe by these presents Nominat constitute and appoint yow to be Commander in Cheif Over all and Sundrie our forces Horse, foott and Dragoons; which presently are or shall be therafter raised or Imployed for our Service whither Standing forces Militia Or other forces whatsomever within our ancient kingdome of Scotland; yow are therfore carefully and dilligently to discharge the duty of Commander in Cheif of our forces by doeing and performing all and all maner of things therunto belonging And wee doe hereby Strictly requyre all officers and Souldiers of all and Singular our forces aforsaid To honor and obey yow as their Commander in cheif, And yow are Likewayes to observe and follow Such orders and directiones as yow Shall from time to time receive from Us or our privy Councill of that our kingdome According to the rules and discipline of Warr in pursuance of the great trust which Wee hereby repose in yow Given at our Court at St James’s the twelth day of May 1702 And of our reigne the first year.
