Warrant Dismissing the Magistrats anent the late Rable
George Home of Kellie Lord Provost; Mr Hary Ferguson, and Robert Forrester, Two of the Baillies of Edinburgh and Gideon Eliot Chirurgeon present Deacon Conveener of the Trades, having Compeared for themselves, and in name of the rest of the Magistrats and haill Councill, Acknowledged to his Grace his Majesties high Commissioner and The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill, That the Sentence pronunced by the Justice-Gernall and Lords Commissioners of Justiciary against the Four persones accused for occasion to the Rable, hade not been Execute with that Exactness it ought to have been, And Therfore The said Lord Provost and Magistrats forsaids Humbly Craved his Grace and their Lordships pardon for any Escape or neglect happened in the Executione therof, And declared Their Serious Resolution not to fall under any Such Escapes or faults in tyme Coming, Being Resolved to see more Exactly to the due, and punctuall Execution of any sentences of the like nature which should be directed to them at any tyme hereafter, Being now in a better Condition so to do, Because they have a Company of Framed Souldiers, under the Towns own pay keeping Guard within the City, which They hade not at the tyme of punishing the Said Rablers, Which acknowledgement and appology, His Majesties high Commissioner and the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill accepted off, And therupon the saids magistrats were dismist from the Councill
