Warrand To the magistrats of Edinburgh To Cause their Constables Take a Second Reveiw of the lists of lodgers within their Bounds

His Majesties high Commissioner and Lords of his majesties privy Councill, Doe heirby give order to and appoint the magistrats of Edinburgh, To take care to cause, Reveiw the Lists of Strangers within their Burghs, lately taken up by their Constables, And appoints The saids Magistrats To Cause their Constables go Throwgh and off new Take up lists of the names of the Lodgers punctually and Exactly within the said City, And ordaines the saids Magistrats To Cause publish and beat a Bank, Through the said Town of Edinburgh appointing and Requireing all persones Inhabitants of the said burgh who Lodge any Strangers in their houses, To give up the names of their Lodgers Every night to the Baillie of the Quarter within Twenty Four houres next after they shall Come to their houses, under the pain of Fourty pounds scots toties quoties for Each Lodger whose name Shall not be given up to the Baillie.
