Warrant
Warrand and order anent the Rable Raised against Mr William Chambers minister at Rathven
His Majesties high Commissioner and the Lord high Chancellor and Remanent Lords of his Majesties Privy Councill Being acquainted be Sir James Stewart His Majesties Advocat, That a great and greivous Rable hes risen and been Committed against Mr William Chalmers late Minister at Gartley now Removed to be Minister att Rathven, And That it will be2 very Expensive and Troublesome to pursue this Rable before the privy Councill and so bring both pairties and witnesses to Edinburgh And Therfore laid it before his Grace and their Lordships, That they wold provide for the minister his Redress, Security, and Releif in the Easiest way they shall think Just. His Majesties High Commissioner and Lords of privy Councill, Doe heirby in the First place Recomend To the Lord Viscount of Seafield, principall Secretary of State Sheriff principall of the Shyre of Bamf, and gives order and warrant to his Lordships Deputs in the said office To take Care and see the said Mr William Chalmers peaceably setled as minister at the said Kirk of Rathven, and to see him peaceably Entered to the possession of the manse and Gleib belonging to the said Kirk and Continued in the peaceable possession therof, And To make Report of their dilligence and procedure herein To his Grace and the Councill betwixt and the Twentieth day of August next to come, And Recommends to the said Viscount of Seafield as Sheriff forsaid, and to the Lords Forbes as Baillzie of the Regality of Huntley. within whose Bounds promiscously the persones Guilty of this Rable Lives And gives order and warrant to the said Noble Lords their Deputs in their respective offices, To Cause their respective Procurator Fiscalls of their severall Courts, Intent, Raise and follow furth to sentence process against the respective persones Suspect guilty of the above Ryot and Rable living within their Bounds And To make their Report to the Councill betwixt and the First Thursday of October next to Come And to Examine Witnesses and do all things necessary for bringing the process to a Speedy Close.
