The Lords of his majesties privie Counsell Doe heirby recommend to the Lords comissioners of his majesties Thesaurie to cause make payment to Sir William Denholme of Westheills maister of his majesties mint of the soume of Thrie hundereth and fourtie punds Sterleing alreadie Laid out by him conform to the act of parliament Jaj vic and eightie six upon the Coynadge of two hundereth and four Stones of Silver coyned in his majesties mynt house Since the terme of Lambes Last and that out of the first and readiest of any of the bullion aither resting impayed in or of what shall fall dwe And be receaved by the colector of the said bullione who is both ordained to wse all exact dilligence against all persons lyable in payment therof for Speedie inbringing the same.

The Lords of his majesties privie Counsell being informed that the present Lady Drum is with child And that Alexander Irvine of Murthill appear and ane of taillzea of the estate of Drum is desyreows to know the tenets of the Ladies being with child Therfor the saids Lords of his majesties privie Counsell of consent both of The Ladyes and of Murthills Lawiers, doe heirby grant full power and comissione to Doctor Patrick Wrqwhart professor of medicine in the Kings coledge of Aberdeen and Elizabeth Moir his Lady Doctor Patrick Chalmers at Aberdeen and […] Forbes his Lady and Christean Skeen spouse to Andrew Jaffrey of Kingswells or any two of them The said Doctor Patrick Wrqwhart being allwayes one of the2 Two to take inspectione and tryall in the mater of the said Lady Drum her being with child As they shall in Judgement and discretione think Sufficient for discovering of the trwth therin And that at the house of Drum upon any day or tyme betwixt the eight day of December next to come and the eightein day of the samen moneth And appoints tymeous intimatione to be made off befor to the said Doctor Patrick Chalmers And appoints the saids commissioners or ther qworum foirsaid to report wnder ther hands what they find in this mater to the saids Lords of privie Counsell betwixt and the first day of Janwary next to come in the yeir of God Jaj vic nyntie Six years Extracted

The Lords of his majesties privie Counsell haveing considered a petition given in to them be James Porterfeild Schoolmaister in the citie of Edinburgh They heirby discharge all printers booksellers and others within this kingdome to reprint vend or to import the book intituled Edinburgh English Schoolmaister reprinted from any other kingdome for the space of nyntyne yeirs without the ptitioner his airs executers or assigneyes ther speciall licence under the paine of confiscatione of such books as may be so reprinted or imported

The Lords of his majesties privie Counsell haveing considered a petitione given in to them be Mr James Kirkwood Schoolmaister of Kellso They heirby give and grant to the petitioner the sole and only priviledge of printing publishing importing or selling of a new Grammer called Gramatica Disputeraticum Nova, nobi Generis Glossa and a second editione of his Rhetorick And discharges all printers stationers merchands and others whatsomever to print reprint import sell or Disperse within this Kingdom any of the saids two books abovementioned for the Space of nyntyne yeirs efter the publishing heirof with Licence of the said Mr James Kirkwood his airs or assigneyes wnder the penaltie of Two Thousand merks Scotts to be payed by each contraveener the one half therof for his majesties use And the other to the said Mr James or his foirsaids besydes the confiscatione of the books so printed imported Sold or dispersed And makeing up what Loss and damnadge the said Mr James and his foresaids may Sustaine ther by.

Anent the petitione given in to the Lords of ther majesties privy Cowncell be Agnes Simpsone relict of the deceast Mr Thomas Forrester minister at Kincairden Showing that the petitioner being a poor wedow left with the burden of Six fatherles childrein by the death of the said master Thomas Forrester her husband who sometyme befor his decease was verie abruptly thrust from the exercise of his minister for refuseing of the test wher throwgh the petitioner is redacted to such miserable circumstances as will requyre the pitie of any christean And being informed that the stipend of the said paroch of Kincarden is yet resting year Jaj vic nyntie four and not as yet disposed upon which is fallen in the hands of the presbetrie in respect of the Earle of Pearth as patron his being popish They by ther act and recomendatione direct to the saids Lords prodwced with the said petitione Efter seriows tryall of what is above represented have thought good to allow The petitioner the benefite of uplifting therof provideing the saids Lords authorized the Samen by ane act of Counsell The Lords of his Majesties privie Counsell haveing considered this petition given in to them by the above Agnes Simpsone with the act and recomendatione of the Synod of Pearth mentioned therin and produced therwith They heirby grant the Stipend of Kincarden for haill cropt and yeir of God Jaj vic nyntie four and ordaines her to be readiely ansuered obeyed and payed by the heretors Liferenters wodsetters titulars tacksemen of teinds tenents possessors and at others lyable in payment of the said yeirs Stipend and ordaines Letters of Horning wnder the Signet of Counsell to be direct at the instance of the said petitioner Against the heretors and others formerly Lyable in payment of the said yeirs Stipend upon productione of a decreit of Localitie And in caice ther be non Ordaines the heretors and others forsaid to make payment of ther respective proportions therof according as they shall be decerned by the Judge ordinarie.

Liberatione John Dick

Anent the petitione given in to the Lords of ther majesties privie Councell be John Dick deacon conveener of Jedburgh Shewing that wheras the petitioner being fyned by ther Lordships in the soume of five hundereth merks for the thrusting of Thomas Porteous proveist of Jedburgh in the breast and he being ordained to goe to prisone untill he payed the fyne he did imediatly pay the fyne but being ordained to goe to prisone untill he payed at the measure thought himself obleidged Likewayes to putt the petitioner in prison And seeing the fyne is payed as appears by the recept prodwced with the said petitione And that the petitioner being imployed in the Kings Service as Subtackman of the excyse of twelve parochins of Tiviotdaill and that it will be a great prejudice and Loss as to the collecting and ingathering of that excyse if the petitioner be detained any Longer in prisone As also that the petitioner is a verie valitudinarie man and if he were continweing in prison any Longer it would exceedinglie prejudge his health And Therfor humbly Supplicating the saids Lords of the effect efter mentioned The Lords of his majesties privie Counsell haveing considered this petitione given in to them be the above John Dick with the discharge mentioned therin and produced therwith They heirby give order and warrand to the magistrats of Edinburgh and keeper of ther tollbuith to sett the petitioner at Libertie furth therof for which this shall be to all persones concerned a sufficient warrand And appoints the clerks of Counsell to deliver up to the said petitioner the bond formerly granted be him for payment to the said Thomas Porteous of the forsaid fyne dated the twentie one day of November Last by past.

The Lords of his majesties privy Councill doe Hereby declare James Dalziell lately come from France to be at Libertie to goe abroad within this Kingdome about his Lawfull affaires as any other of his majesties free Leidges In respect he hes given bond and found sufficient Cautione acted in the books of privy Councill That He should live peaceablie under and with all submissione to the present government of his majestie King William and that He shall not act consult nor contryve any thing in prejudice thereof nor converse or correspond with any Rebells and that He shall appear before the Lords of privy Councill when called for under the penalty of ane Hundred pounds sterling in Case He shall transgress in any part of the premisses
