Committee for Enquiring into the Export of money and Import off Brass and Copper Coyn

The Lords of Her Majesties privie Councill Doe heirby Nominat and appoint The Earles of Lauderdale, Loudoun, Roseberry, Glasgow, Lords Advocat, Justice Clerk, and Rankillor, Master Francis Montgomrie and the Lord provest of Edinburgh To be a Committee to inquyre into the Import of money furth of this Kingdome And to consider the most effectuall method For hindering and stopping the same in tyme comeing As also what may be the most effectwall method off hindering the Import into this Kingdome off Forraigne Copper and brass Coyn, And Recommends to the said Committee To meet to morrow at Three aclock in the afternoon and Declaires any Three aquorum and to Report.

Warrand for giveing up John Muir Skipper at Borrowstouness his Bond

The Lord Advocat Haveing Represented to the Councill That John Muir skipper in Borrowstouness, Being by Act of the Committee of privie Councill, Daited the seventh day of January last by past secured by the Magistrats of Montrose and that he had given Bond To appear befoir the Councill in manner therin mentioned, and that he being Examined befoir the Committee and the Lord Advocat made a Report theranent The saids Lords Declaires The said John Muir skipper to be at liberty to goe about his Laufull affaires and allowed him to get up from the Clerks off Councill his Bond given by hm for appearance befoir the Councill as said is.

Recommendation to the Governour of the Castle of Edinburgh To cause fire the Guns of the Castle for Her Majesties Birthday

The Lords of Her Majesties privy Councill Considering That sabbath nixt Being the sixt Instant is the Birth day of Her Majestie Queen Anne And the samen falls upon the Lords day That their Lordships thinks fitt to delay the solemnizatione therof untill Munday therafter being the seventh Instant Therfor The saids Lords Doe heirby Recommend to the Earle of March Governour and Constable of the Castle of Edinburgh And in absence gives order and warrand To the nixt Commanding officer there To cause fyre the Guns of the said Castle upon munday nixt being the day appointed for solemnization of Her Majesties Birth at the ordinary tyme off the solemnitie and in the manner heretofore observed in the lyke caices.

The Lords of Her Majesties privy Councill Considering That Sunday nixt Being the sixth Instant In the Birth day of Her Majestie Queen Anne And that the samen falling on the Lords day The saids Lords thought fitt To delay the solemnization therof untill munday thereafter Being the seventh Instant Therfore The saids Lords off Her Majesties privie Councill Doe heirby Allow and requyre The Magistrats of Edinburgh To cause Intimatione to be made after the usewall manner To all the Nighbours and Inhabitants within the said Burgh That they put furth Illuminationes, Ringing off Bells etc The said day at the ordinary tyme and in manner heretofoir observed And that the said day be solemnized with Illuminationes, Ringing of Bells, and other Expressiones off publict Joy And Recommends to the Provest off Edinburgh That he cause Ring the Musick Bells, from Ten off the Clock in the foirnoon untill four off the Clock in the afternoon That the Great Bells beguine to Ring And appoints the usuall solemnity at the Cross of Edinburgh To be and begun at Tuelf a Clock the said day.

Letter from the Councill to the Queen in answer to Her Majesties Letter To their Lordships Annent Her Majesties transmitting Coppies of the papers and Letters relative to the plot Being read the same was approven voted signed and ordained to be recorded And Recommended to the Advocat To transmit the same to Her Majestie Wherof the tenor followes
May it please your Majestie
The Coppies of the paper and Letters relaiting to the plot transmitted to us by your Majestie out of your Royall Cair and vigilance for our preservation and saifty (3which in all humble duty we most thankfully acknowledge Have been laid and read befoir us And there appear such evidences therin of most wicked Councills and practices both at St Germans the French Court and else where against your Majesties Government and the pace of this and all your Majesties Kingdomes as are fully convincing and satisfeing to us as they must be to all who consider them As also that these ill practices are still under a closs and dangerous prosecution And Therfor as we cannot but approve all the means and methods That have been taken by your Majestie’s allowance for discoveries in this matter Soe we shall continue to use our out most dilligence to prosecute those that have been or shall be made And therby to prevent the mischeifs that soe visibly threaten But with all we must still represent to your Majestie our present weak and defenceless condition specially for want of arms and ammunition And that we humbly judge Ten Thousand stand of arms at least with proportionall Anmunition to be requisite and necessary for the saifty and security of this and your Majesties other Dominions and what further shall occurr wee shall be cairfull to Communicate to your Secretaries from tyme to tyme to be laid befoir your Majestie And thus wishing That God may long preserve and prosper your Majesties lyfe and Reign and defeat all the Evill designes of your Enemies Wee are May it please your Majestie your Majesties most Loyall, most faithfull and most obedient subjects and servants sic subscribitur Marr, Buchan, Eglingtoun, Lauderdale, Loudoun, Finlatter, Northesk, Roseberry, Glasgow, Garnock, Primrose, Hew, Dalrymple James Steuart, Robert McKenzie, Collin Campbell, Archbald Hope, James Falconer, George Ramsay, Francis Montgomry
