Warrand For keeping Her Majesties Birthday etc
The Lords of Her Majesties privy Councill Considering That Sunday nixt Being the sixth Instant In the Birth day of Her Majestie Queen Anne And that the samen falling on the Lords day The saids Lords thought fitt To delay the solemnization therof untill munday thereafter Being the seventh Instant Therfore The saids Lords off Her Majesties privie Councill Doe heirby Allow and requyre The Magistrats of Edinburgh To cause Intimatione to be made after the usewall manner To all the Nighbours and Inhabitants within the said Burgh That they put furth Illuminationes, Ringing off Bells etc The said day at the ordinary tyme and in manner heretofoir observed And that the said day be solemnized with Illuminationes, Ringing of Bells, and other Expressiones off publict Joy And Recommends to the Provest off Edinburgh That he cause Ring the Musick Bells, from Ten off the Clock in the foirnoon untill four off the Clock in the afternoon That the Great Bells beguine to Ring And appoints the usuall solemnity at the Cross of Edinburgh To be and begun at Tuelf a Clock the said day.
