Proclamation Adjourning the parliament

Proclamation adjourning the parliament to the fourth of May nixt being read the samen was votted approven signed and ordained to be Recorded published and printed
Anne By the Grace of God Queen of Great Britan France and Ireland defender of the faith To our Lyon King at arms and his breitheren Heraulds, Macers of our privie Councill, pursevants Messengers att arms Our shirriffs in that pairt Conjunctly and seaverally specially Constitute Greeting Forasmuch as The present state of our affaires does not requyre the meeting of our parliament of this our ancient Kingdome of Scotland so soon as the fourth day of Apprill nixt To qch it was last adjourned We therefor are resolved to continue the said adjournment To the fourth day of May nixt And that the members off parliament may not be put to the trouble and Chairges of meeting upon the said fourth day of Apprill nixt We with advyce of the Lords of our privie Councill have adjourned and heirby adjourne our said Currant Parliament from the said fourth day of Apprill nixt To the fourth day of May thereafter Requyreing heirby all the members thereof To attend at Edinburgh the said day in the usuall manner and under the accustomed Certefications of Law appointed Our Will is Herefore And we chairge yow strictly and Command That in continent thir our Letters seen ye pass To the mercat cross of Edinburgh and to the mercat crosses of the remanent head burghs of the respective shyres and steuartries of this our ancient Kingdome And there in our name and authoritie Make publict Intimation that our said parliament is adjourned To the said fourth day of May nixt to come And ordains their presents to be printed and published Given under our signet Att Edinburgh The tuenty Eight day of March And of our Rigne The thrid2 year 1704.
