Warrand for Delyvering of John Bentham To Captain William Montgomrie
The Lords of Her Majesties privie Councill haveing Considered the consent under the hands of John Bentham late fermer in Speirfirth in Yorkshyre in the Kingdome of England now prisoner in the Tolbuith of Edinburgh with the Declaration under the hand of John Cleghorne one of the Baillies of Edinburgh Bearing that the said John Bentham had freely and willing engaged to serve Her Majestie as a Souldier under the Command of Captain William Montgomerie in the Earle of Orknayes Regiment And the samen being read in their presence The saids Lords Doe heirby declair The said John Benthame to be Laufullie taken on with the said Captain Montgomrie And Therfore Gives order and warrand to the magistrats of Edinburgh and keeper of their Tolbuith instantly to delyver up the person of the said John Benthame To the said Captain William Montgomrie to be by him carried to Holland to serve in the said Regiment Notwithstanding he was committed for uttering of false Coyne.
