Warrant for printing the act of parliament anent wrongous Imprisonment Siperatly

The Lord Advocat having Represented to the Councill that there are Severall abuses Committed by the officers of the Forces in making up their Levys, By forcing and pressing of men without their own Consent, and that least the said officers may pretend to be Ignorant of the Law made against the same, Therfore The Lords of His Majestys Privy Councill do heirby ordain the Sixth act of the last Session of parliament made for preventing wrongous Imprisonment, to be Seperatly printed and affixed at all the Seaports and other places needfull to the Effect neither officers or others concerned may pretend Ignorance.

Anent The Petition given in to the Lords of His majestys privy Councill by Ensign James Gibsone Shewing That where he being Commissionat to Scotland for Levying men to Recruit the Regiment Commanded by Colonell Robert Murray now lying in Holland, and having used all the moyen and pains possible he could to make up his Complement, notwithstanding frustrat And Seing Robert Mun who hes been lately Imprisoned in the tolbooth of Edinburgh at the Instance of My Lord Montgomery upon Suspicion of Theft is willing and Content to go alongst with the petitioner, to be one of the Recruits in the said Regiment as ane declaration under his hand and attested by one of the Magistrats of the Said burgh as the samen therwith produced bears. And Considering their Petitioner applyed to their Lordships formerly for Severall prisoners that were So Imprisoned, and that their Lordships then Refused to grant the same but declared, That what ever prisoners for Such Crymes Should therafter be Imprisoned, that he Should be allowed the benefit therof, And Therfore Humbly Craving to the Effect underwrittin as the said petition bears. The Saids Lords of His Majestys Privy Councill having Considered the above Petition given in to them by Ensign James Gibsone, with the declaration mentioned therin and produced therwith, They hereby give order and Warrant to the magistrats of Edinburgh, and keeper of their tolbooth, to sett Robert Mun presently prisoner therin at Liberty furth therof, and to deliver him to the petitioner To the Effect the Said Robert Mun may go alongst with the petitioner to Serve as one of the Recruits in the Regiment Commanded by Colonell Robert Murray now lying in Holland, In Respect of the said Robert his Consent therto in manner forsaid.

Anent the Petition given in to the Lords of His majesties Privy Councill by Mr John Forrest Student in divinity Shewing That the said Mr John hes with great pains prepared a new Edition of a book, Entituled Cali Sedulii Scoti poemata Sacra by Comparing it with ane ancient manuscript and all former Editions, and illustrating the Same with notes, 2 Which have been Seen and approven by the Primar, and Some of the professors of the Colledge of Edinburgh, The masters of the publick Schools ther, and Severall other prious and Learned men, who all Judge the book very fitt, to be Read by persons of all ranks, but especialy by the youth, That they may at once with greater pleasure acquire the Knowledge of the Latin Tongue, and be Instructed in the principles of the Christian Religion, And that Likeways their Lordships petitioner he with Considerable Expences and great Exactness made a fair Impression of the said book. And Therfore Humbly Craving to the Effect underwrittin as the said petition bears. The Saids Lords of His majestys privy Councill having Considered the above petition given in to them by Mr John Forrest They heirby grant to the petitioner the Sole and only priviledge of printing publishing and Selling the forsaid book, And have discharged and heirby discharges all printers Stationers and others whatsoever, to print reprint Import Sell or disperse within this Kingdom the forsaid book, And for the Space of nynteen years from that date heirof with out the petitioners licence or his heirs and assigneys, under the penalty one Thousand merks Scots to be payed by each Contraveener to the petitioner and his forsaids besides the Confiscation of the books So printed Imported, Sold or disperst, and making up what Loss the petitioner may Sustain therby.

[Proclamation for adjourning Parliament]

The following Proclamation for Adjourning the Parliament Being Immediately prepaired was Read and Signed, and ordered to be printed published and Recorded whereof the tenor follows
William by the grace of God King of great Brittain France and Ireland defender of the faith, To our Lyon King at arms and his Brethren heraulds macers of our privy Councill pursevants, Messengers at arms, Our Sheriffs in that pairt Conjunctly and Severally Specially constitute greeting, Forasmuchas by the last act of the Last Session of this our Current parliament, The Same was adjourned to the sixth day of May then next to come now Instant. And Wheras the present State of our affairs, doth not Require the meeting of our said Parliament, So soon as the said day to which the same was adjourned, and that the Members of our said parliament may not be put to unnecessary trouble and Charge, Therfore Wee with advice of the Lords of our Privy Councill, do heirby Continue the adjournment of our said parliament from the said sixth day of May Instant to the Seventh day of august next to come, And Wee with advice forsaid do heirby Require all the members of our said parliament to attend att Edinburgh The said Seventh day of August in the usuall way, and under the Certifications Contained in the severall acts of parliament made thereanent. The following Proclamation for Adjourning the Parliament Being Immediately prepaired was Read and Signed, and ordered to be printed published and Recorded whereof the tenor follows
William by the grace of God King of great Brittain France and Ireland defender of the faith, To our Lyon King at arms and his Brethren heraulds macers of our privy Councill pursevants, Messengers at arms, Our Sheriffs in that pairt Conjunctly and Severally Specially constitute greeting, Forasmuchas by the last act of the Last Session of this our Current parliament, The Same was adjourned to the sixth day of May then next to come now Instant. And Wheras the present State of our affairs, doth not Require the meeting of our said Parliament, So soon as the said day to which the same was adjourned, and that the Members of our said parliament may not be put to unnecessary trouble and Charge, Therfore Wee with advice of the Lords of our Privy Councill, do heirby Continue the adjournment of our said parliament from the said sixth day of May Instant to the Seventh day of august next to come, And Wee with advice forsaid do heirby Require all the members of our said parliament to attend att Edinburgh The said Seventh day of August in the usuall way, and under the Certifications Contained in the severall acts of parliament made thereanent.
