Commission In Favors of Major Generall Ramsay to be Livt Generall of all her Majesties forces within this kingdome Raised or to be raised; whither Standing forces Militia or other forces whatsomever Being Read the Samen was ordered to be recorded and the said Livetennent Generall George Ramsay being present did qualifie himself to her Majestie by Swearing the Oath of alledgance and subscrybing the Same with the assurance and the Lord Chancelor did tender to him the oath de fideli administratione officii. Followes the Commission
Anne by the Grace of God Queen of Scotland England France and Ireland defender of the faith etc To our Trustie and well beloved Major Generall George Ramsay Greeting: Wee Reposeing Speciall trust and confidence in your Loyaltie Courage and great experience in Military affairs, Doe by these presents Nominat Constitute and appoint yow To be Livetenent Generall over all and Singular our forces Horse foot and dragoons already raised; or hereafter to be raised Whither Standing forces or Militia or other forces whatsomever within our ancient kingdome of Scotland, Giving hereby to yow our Livetennent Generall Full power and authority To Command all our forces, yow are therfore carefully and dilligently to discharge that great trust By doeing and performing all things whatsomever therunto belonging; And wee doe hereby Strictly requyre all officers and Souldiers of all and Singular our forces aforsaid To honor and obey yow as their Livetennant Generall and your self directiones and Commands as yow shall from time to time receive from us or our privy Councill of that our kingdome according to the rules and discipline of Warr In pursuance of the great trust wee hereby doe repose in yow by these our Commission; Which is to continue in full force untill it shall be discharged by us in wryting under our Royall hand; Given at our Court at St James’s the iith day of February 1702/3 and of our reigne the first year By her Majesties Command Sic Subscribitur Tarbat

Proclamation for Adjourning the parliament was Read voted approven and Signed. Wherof the tenor Followes.
Anne by the Grace of God Queen of Great Brittain France and Ireland defender of the faith To our Lyon King at Armes; his bretheren heraulds; Macers of our privy Councill; pursevants messingers at armes; our shirriffs in that part Conjunctllie and Severally Specially Constitute Greetting Forasmuchas the great affection Wee have to our people; and our gracious inclynation and resolution of reclaimeing these who have transgressed or faillied in their dutie and alledgance to Us Raither by favors and obligationes then by punishments and Severity; and the Satisfaction wee propose to our self and out Subjects; by their Liveing in due obedience to us, and in Christian Love and kydnes with one another, Being also desireous to remove any uneasiness which may arise to our said subjects either from a Conviction of their oun Guilt or from fear of the execution of the Lawes of this our antient kingdome Wee have transmitted to our privy Councill a full and ample act of Grace pardon and indemnity for all the bygone Crymes of our said subjects such only excepted as ought at no time to be adventured upon much Less incouradged by hopes of pardon wherof wee hope few of our Subjects are guilty Which act of our Royall Grace and goodnes; Wee have Commanded furthwith to be published by our privy Councill in the accustomed and most Solemne manner to the end that all may know our Royall intention And that these who reap the benefit of it; may be the more engadged to Live in time comeing dutiefully towards us and in Amity with their fellow Subjects, and Seing wee find the parliament of this our ancient Kingdome Cannot Conveniently meett upon the Sixth day of Aprill nixt to which it was adjourned; And that a furder adjournment for a short time is necessary for our affairs. Therfore Wee with advice of our privy Councill have adjourned and hereby Adjournes the meetting of our said parliament from the said sixth day of Aprile to the Sixth day of May nixt3 therafter And wee being firmly resolved that our said parliament shall meett on the said sixth day of May nixt without farder delay for the good ends for which wee have Called it Doe Therfore with advice forsaid hereby Command and Charge all Noblemen officers of state and Commissioners of Shyres and burghes to attend the Meetting of our said parliament at Edinburgh the said sixth day of May nixt to come To which it is now adjourned in the usuall way and upon the accustumed Certificationes and under the paines Contained in our Lawes made theranent Our Will is Heirfore and wee Charge yow Strictly and Command that incontinent thir our Letters Seen yee pass and to the marcat Cross of Edniburgh4 and to the marcat Crosses of the remanent head burghes of the seaverall shyres and Stewartries within this our ancient kingdome and therat in our name and authority make publict intimation That our said parliament is adjourned to the said sixth day of May nixt to come, And Ordaines these presents to be printed and published. Order
The Lords of her Majesties privy Councill haveing heard her Majesties proclamation for a gracious generall indemnity Read in their presence; The saids Lords of her Majesties privy Councill Ordaines the Same to be presently printed and published at the Cross of Edinburgh And Ordaines the Magistrates of Edinburgh to be present at the Cross in their robbs dureing the publication therof and to cause the bells to be Rung from four of the Cloak in the afternoon and Illuminations to be in the evening in the ordinary manner; And Recommends to the Governour of the Castle of Edinburgh; and in his absence appoints the nixt Commanding officer under him to cause fire the Guns from the Castle the time of the proclamation and when the bells begin to Ring and at the evening when the Illuminationes are put out; And the saids Lords Likewayes Ordaine the forsaid Gracious indemnity to be published at the whole Marcat Crosses of the head burghs of the Shyres of this kingdome; and other places needfull by the Severall Shirriffs of the Respective Shyres and others concerned.

Proclamation of Indemnity under her Majesties Royall hand Being Read; was ordered to be Recorded wherof the tenor follows. Sic Supra Scribitur Anne Regina
Anne by the Grace of God Queen of Scotland England France and Ireland defender of the faith etc To all and Sundrie our good Subjects whom these presents doe or may concerne Greeting Forasmuchas It has been, and is our Constant Resolution and designe to Establish the peace and promote the wellfare of our people Non only by procureing the equall and Impartiall administration of Justice But also by Such Mixture of the benigne Influences of our goodnes and Clemencie as may best Compose all distempers and give a Just assurance Against all fears and Jealousies; And for that effect Wee being desirous to Compleat the indulgence that hitherto wee have Shewed; And to reclaime even Such offenders as might Justlie have expected the deserved effects of our displeasure: And that for time to come Wee may by a gracious pardon and act Oblivion establish firme peace and concord amongst all our Subjects; Therfore Wee of Certain knowledge and by vertue of our Soveraigne power and authority; Pardon; Remitt; Indemnifie and for ever acquit all and everie one of our Subjects of all Crymes of Perduellion; Rebellion Treason; Concealling of Treason; harbouring resett Supplieing Corrosponding and intercomuneing with Rebells and Declared enemies; The Impugneing the dignity and authoritie of the Estates of parliament and all other kinds of Treason; or Leise Majestie Whither Comon or Statutorie; and of all Crimes of Leesing makeing Whither to us of our Subjects or to our Subjects of Us, depriveing or misconstrueing our Lawes or any of our proceedings or misrepresenting or slandering us of our proceedings in any Sort and all breaches or abuses of or Malversationes in publict trusts with all other Crimes delinquences or transgresisones of whatsoever Nature or qualitie Committed acted or done by any of our Subjects by word or wryt or incurred by any other act aither of Commission or Commission preceiding the date of these presents; And which directly or indirectly are or may Import the Contravention of any Law or act of parliament Custome or Constituion of that our ancient kingdome And that in so farr as may inferr any paine or punishment against any of our Subjects aither in their Lives fortunes Estates forme or reputation; All which wee by vertue of our Royall power and authority forsaid Will Declare and Ordain to be hereby pardoned acquited and indemnified and put in perpetuall Oblivion And that this generall pardon and Indemnity Shall be alse valid and effectuall to all our Subjects for their exoneration and discharge of all paynes and punishments as if every particular Cryme offence delinquencie or Misdemeaner were here sett doun and as Remissiones under our great Seall were past and granted for the Same; Wherwith Wee for our Selves and Successors dispense for ever; Likeas Wee hereby prohibit and discharge any of our Ministers or Judges to call in question or proceed against any of our Said Subjects for the Saids Crimes and their paynes and punishments in time comeing Declareing and Ordaining This our Generall pardon and Indemnity to be interpret and understood in the most benign, favorable, and Comprehensive Sense the Same can admitt for the Security of our Subjects, Excepting allwayes furth and from this Generall parrdon and Indemnity all Forfaulters and Sentances and Dooms therof and all pecuniall fynes and unlaw’s allready payed or transacted And But prejudice to us or these Commissioned by Us to Call all Collectors and other intromitters with publict money to give accompt of their intromissione and to make payment of what Shall be found due by their Intromissions and Farder Excepting all Man-Slaughters; Murders, assassinationes Witch crafts; Fyre raiseings; Depredationes, Roberies Raps, Spulzies, Thifts houss breakings; Mutullationes Adultries, Blasphemies; and delinquencies of Immoralitie All which Crimes and these guilty therof are nowayes to be Comprehended in or have any benefitt by this our pardon and indemnity As to the said crumes Excepted: And Lastly to the end all our good Subjects may have Notice of2 our Royall will and pleasure Wee doe hereby Command our Lyon king of Armes and his bretheren heraulds; pursevants and mesingers at armes; To make due publication thereof at the Marcat Cross of Edinburgh; For all which these presents shall be a sufficient Warrant. Letter from the Queen to the Councill Shewing her Majestie hade granted a gracious and generall indemnitie and for adjourning the parliament Read and ordered to be Recorded wherof the tenor followes.

The Earle of Tillibardin Lord privy Seall; Viscount of Stair, Lord Polwarth; Lord Boyle Thesaurer depute Major Generall Ramsay; Shirriff of Bute and Kilbirnie by Commission from her Majestie being all named of her most honourable privy Councill Did all qualifie themselves to her Majestie by Swearing the oath of alledgance and Subscrybeing the Samen with the assurance; And the Lord Chancelor did tender the Oath de fideli; and then their Lordships with the other Councillors did take their places at the board accordingly.
