Procedure

Commission In favors of Major Genall George Ramsay To be Livt Generall of the Forces

Commission In Favors of Major Generall Ramsay to be Livt Generall of all her Majesties forces within this kingdome Raised or to be raised; whither Standing forces Militia or other forces whatsomever Being Read the Samen was ordered to be recorded and the said Livetennent Generall George Ramsay being present did qualifie himself to her Majestie by Swearing the Oath of alledgance and subscrybing the Same with the assurance and the Lord Chancelor did tender to him the oath de fideli administratione officii. Followes the Commission
Anne by the Grace of God Queen of Scotland England France and Ireland defender of the faith etc To our Trustie and well beloved Major Generall George Ramsay Greeting: Wee Reposeing Speciall trust and confidence in your Loyaltie Courage and great experience in Military affairs, Doe by these presents Nominat Constitute and appoint yow To be Livetenent Generall over all and Singular our forces Horse foot and dragoons already raised; or hereafter to be raised Whither Standing forces or Militia or other forces whatsomever within our ancient kingdome of Scotland, Giving hereby to yow our Livetennent Generall Full power and authority To Command all our forces, yow are therfore carefully and dilligently to discharge that great trust By doeing and performing all things whatsomever therunto belonging; And wee doe hereby Strictly requyre all officers and Souldiers of all and Singular our forces aforsaid To honor and obey yow as their Livetennant Generall and your self directiones and Commands as yow shall from time to time receive from us or our privy Councill of that our kingdome according to the rules and discipline of Warr In pursuance of the great trust wee hereby doe repose in yow by these our Commission; Which is to continue in full force untill it shall be discharged by us in wryting under our Royall hand; Given at our Court at St James’s the iith day of February 1702/3 and of our reigne the first year By her Majesties Command Sic Subscribitur Tarbat
