Committie for examining Captain Neill McCload Charles Mckinnon etc

Forasmuchas by a letter from her Royall Majestie direct to her privy Councill of this Kingdome Bearing her Majestie had received siverall Informationes of very ill practises and designes caried on in this Kingdome by Emissaries from France; Which might have proved dangerous if not timeously discovered, And Therfore Ordering her Majesties advocat to examine some persones who Seemed to be concerned in that affair and appointed the privy Councill to assist him therin in all the Methods that Law will Allow; Therfore the Lords of her Majesties privy Councill Doe hereby Nominat and appoint the Earles of Loudoun, Northesk and Glasgow, and president of Session, Lord Register Advocat and Justice Clerk, Livetenent Generall Ramsay Mr Francis Montgomry and Stivenson to be a Committie for Examineing of […] McCleod in the Guards Charles Mckinnen and […] McClean with power to the said Committie to Call for the saids persones and Examine them and Committ them to prison or put them under Such Security as they shall think fitt for Living in the mean time peaceably and appearing befor the Councill when Called and Likewise with power to them to Call before them such other persones as they find needfull and examine them and Comitt and secure us aforsaid with power to them Likewayes others if they find it necessary to Cause Seise their papers and Sequestrat and Secure the Samen and to doe all other things necessary that may tend to the full prosecution of her Majesties pleasure in her said Royall Letter And to report upon the haill premisses; And Declareing any thrie a Sufficient quorum.
