Anent the petition given in and presented to the Lords of his Majesties privie Counsell by Andrew Myretoun of Gogar, Showeing that where his majestie haveing granted to the petitioner under his Royall hand, and warrand for a patent, to be knight barronet, dated the tuenty eight day of June last, In which the secretaries servants have ommitted to insert the words per Saltum, wpon which accompt the directors of the Chancellary Scruples to extend the said patent without warrand from the saids Lords of privie Councell, and seing the saids Lords are in use to interpose there authority in the Like caise and particularly in patent in favors of Sir Alexander Ogilvie of Forgland and others, and therefore Craveing to the effect after mentioned as the said petition bears The Lords of his majesties privie Counsell haveing Considered this petition given in to them be the within Andrew Myrestoun of Gogar, they hereby Grant warrand to the director of his majesties Chancellary and his deputs to write out and extend the above patent and hereby gives order and warrand, to the keeper of the great Seall to append the samen thereto without passeing any other Register or Sale per Saltum

Anent the petition given in and presented to the Lords of his majesties privie Counsell by those who suffered by the late fyre in the land mercat Showeing that it haveing pleased God by the late dreadfull fyre, to Consume their houses and the whole substance, of some of them, so as the petitioners and ther famelies are Reduced to very great streats and are no able to subsist unless some way releived, In Consideration whereof they with all humility apply to the saids Lords of privie Counsell to Interpose ther authority and allowes a Collection for the petitioners releive within the City of Edinburgh and suburbs to be Collected in the way and maner and att such tyme as their magistrats and ministers should juge most Convenient, and Therefore Craveing to the effect after mentioned as the said petition bears, The Lords of his majesties privie Counsell haveing Considered this petition given in to them by the persones who suffered by the late fyre, in the land mercat, of Edinburgh, they hereby recomend, to the Lord provest of Edinburgh, and allow him and the magistrats of the said burgh with adyce of the ministers thereof and such of the neighbours as they shall think fitt to Call to Cause a voluntar Contribution, to be made through the haill burgh of Edinburgh, and Liberties thereof for the releife of the petitioners, to be Collected and gathered wpon such dayes and in such way and maner as they shall think fitt to apoynt, and ordains the haill soume of money thatt shall be Collected and Gathered by the forsaid voluntar Collection to be delivered in and payed to Thomas Fisher Thesaurer to Herriots Hospitall to be by him destribute and given out to such of the saids persones, who suffered by the late fyre by such proportions, as the saids magistrats with advyce forsaid shall think fitt to appoynt

Anent a Petition given in to his Majesties high Commissioner and the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill be Robert Innes Late Baillie of Elgine, Thomas Russell late Thesaurer ther James Gordon merchant ther Shewing That wher the petitioners for themselves and in name and behalf of a multitude to the number of a hundred of the other inhabitants and nighbours of the Town of Elgine haveing intented a process and Complaint against William King late provest, James Stewart late Baillie and some others of the late Magistracy on the account of severall malversationes Comitted by them, and that the personall Compearance of all the petitioners who are Compleaners would not only be vastly expensive, Bot render the whole toune of Elgine desolat and that his Grace and the saids Lords in such cases were in use to sustaine the presence of some particular persones in name and behalf of the rest as in the case of the very defenders of this Complaint, Who are allowed to stay at home upon some of their numbers appearing for themselves in behalf of the rest And Therfore humbly supplicating his Grace and the saids Lords to the effect aftermentioned as the said petition bears His Majesties high Commissioner and the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill, Haveing Considered this petition given in to them by the above Robert Innes late baille of Elgine, Thomas Russell late Thesaurer ther and James Gordon merchant ther, They have excused and hereby excuses the absence of the haill persones pursuers in the Lybell raised at their instance against provest King and baillie James Stewart in Elgine and others and defenders in the reconvention raised at Provest King and Baillie Stewarts instances against them except the thrie persones petitioners abovenamed The saids thrie persones petitioners Viz Robert Innes late baillie Thomas Russell Late Thesaurer and James Gordon merchant in Elgin haveing before extracting hereof enacted themselves in the books of his majesties privy Councill, That they and the rest of the pursuers in the principall Lybell at their instances against provest King and Baillie Stewart before the Councill and defenders in the reconvention at Provost King and Baillie Stewarts instances against them before the privy Councill shall obtempor satisfie and fullfill the decreet and sentance of Councill to be given and pronunced in both the saids processes
