Liberatione and Confynment Livingstoune of Kilsyth

Anent the petitione given in to the Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Be Mr William Livingstoune of Kilsyth Sheuing That wher the petitioner Hes been detained prisoner more then these four years bygone And therby his health is soe much weakned and to that height Indaingered that it uill be absolutely Impossible for the petitioner to support that burden any longer uithout Eminent hazard to his Life unless their Lordships Interpose their Goodness and favour And to Evidence to their Lordships that what is here asserted is not Groundless The Certificat produced uith the said petitione under tuo knouing phisitians hands does fully testifie And therfore Humbly Craving their Lordships to take the premisses to their Consideratione And to ordaine the petitioner to be sett at Libertie upon such reasonable Bale as their Lordships shall think fitt as the said petitione Bears The saids Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Having Considered this petitione given In to them Be the above Mr William Livingstoune of Kilsyth uith the testificat mentioned therin of his Indispositione and produced theruith They Heirby Recommend to the Earle of Leven Governour of the Castle of Edinburgh And in his absence Gives ordor and uarrand to the deputie Governour or nixt Commanding officer ther To sett at Liberty the petitioner furth of the said castle And Confynes him to his Chamber in the house of Mistress Lyell in the parliament closs in Edinburgh In respect He hath Given bond and found sufficient Cautione acted in the books of privie Councell That he shall repaire to and keep his said Confynment and not goe furth therof And in the mean tyme That he shall Live peacably under and uith all submissione to the present government of their Majesties King Uilliam and Queen Mary And that he shall not Act Consult or Contrvve any thing in prejudice therof nor Converss or Correspond uith any rebells And that he shall appear Before the Saids Lords of their Majesties privie Councell when called for under the penaltie of ane Thousand pounds sterline In case He shall transgress in any part of the premisses

Letter to the shirreffs anent the Commissars of the Army

Uheras their Majesties Have been pleased for the good and ease of their subjects to discharge all manner of free quarters or locality of oats straw Hay and grass to be furnished be the Country to the forces And that In obedience therunto The Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Have Emitted a proclamatione regulating all things of that kynd in tyme to Come which is since ratified and Inlarged by Act of parliament And that the Lords Commissioners of their Majesties Thesaury Have Contracted and aggreed uith Sir Alexander Bruce of Broomhall for Furnishing all horse and dragoones uithin this kingdome whither in Locall or transient quarters uith oats and straw or grass according to the seasons We therfore Recommend to yow to be aiding and assisting to the said Sir Alexander and his deputes In the prosecutione of that Imployment wherby soe much advantadge and benefite uill redound to the natione And to take care that the Commissaries who are to pay ready money for what they receave) 2 as to the pryce of which some Complaints Have already reached our ears signed in name and att Command of the Councell by your humble servant. Proclamatione superceeding the monthly fast

William and Mary By the Grace of god King and Queen of Great Brittane France and Ireland defenders of the faith To […] Macers of our privie Councell messengers at armes our shirreffs in that part Conjunctly and severally specially Constitut Greeting Forasmuchas by the first Act of the Last sessione of this our Currant Parliament a day of solemne fasting and 2 Humiliation was appointed to be observed by all persones uithin this kingdome upon the third teusday of every month untill Intimatione of Forbearance showld be made be the Lords of our privie Councell And ue Considering the seasone of the year being farr spent It may be Convenient to superceed the observing of the said Fast after this month of september Therfore ue uith advyce of our privie Councell Doe Heirby Certifie and Give Intimatione to all our Leidges That the said fast and Humiliation Is only to be observed upon the third teusday of this Currant month of september and to be superceeded and forborne for afteruard And to the effect our pleasure in the premisses may be Knouen our uill is hierfore And ue Charge yow strictly and Command That Incontinent these our Letters seen ye pass to the mercat cross of Edinburgh and whole other mercat Crosses of the Head burghs of the severall shyres and stewartries uithin this Kingdome And ther be open proclamatione make publicatione of the premisses That none pretend ignorance And ordaines these presents to be printed Given under our signet at Edinburgh the seventh day of September and of our reigne the fifth year 1693 sic subscribitur Tueeddale cancell Drumlangrig Southerland Linlithgow Leven Forfar Tarbat Raith Beilhaven Will: Master of Forbes Adam Cockburn John Lauder
