Letter to the shirreffs anent the Commissars of the Army

Uheras their Majesties Have been pleased for the good and ease of their subjects to discharge all manner of free quarters or locality of oats straw Hay and grass to be furnished be the Country to the forces And that In obedience therunto The Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Have Emitted a proclamatione regulating all things of that kynd in tyme to Come which is since ratified and Inlarged by Act of parliament And that the Lords Commissioners of their Majesties Thesaury Have Contracted and aggreed uith Sir Alexander Bruce of Broomhall for Furnishing all horse and dragoones uithin this kingdome whither in Locall or transient quarters uith oats and straw or grass according to the seasons We therfore Recommend to yow to be aiding and assisting to the said Sir Alexander and his deputes In the prosecutione of that Imployment wherby soe much advantadge and benefite uill redound to the natione And to take care that the Commissaries who are to pay ready money for what they receave) 2 as to the pryce of which some Complaints Have already reached our ears signed in name and att Command of the Councell by your humble servant.
