Warrant

Warrand for transporting and Imprisoning the Duke of Gordoune

The Lords of there Majesties privie Councill doe hereby recomend to Sir Thomas Livingstoun Comander in cheiff etc To send ane officer with a sufficient guaird of souldiers to Leith with orders to receave the Duke of Gordoune from Major Gidet under whose custody he is transported prisoner from the Netherlands to this Kingdome And to be by the said officer and guaird transported to the castle of Edinburgh and delyvered prisoner to the Earle of Leven constable thereof or in his absence to the next Comanding officer whom they recomend to and requyre to receave the said Duke and detain him prisoner in the said castle till farder order of Councill sic subscribitur Tweeddale cancel: Jp:d: Annandale Breadalbaine Cardross Carmichaell Adam Cockburne John Lauder Archibald Murray Thomas Livingstoun
