Order anent forces to be transported to Edinburgh for suppressing of tumults
The Lords of there majesties privie Councill doe hereby recomend to Sir Thomas Livingstoun Comander in cheiff of there majesties forces within this Kingdome for the tyme And ordaines the respective officers under him who and the souldiers under there Command are quartered within the Suburbs of the toun of Edinburgh to march into and within the ports of the said toun when and in what number they shall be desyred and called for by the magistrats of the said burgh of Edinburgh for repressing or dispenseing any tumult or rabble that may be raised within the said burgh And to receave there orders and regulate themselves upon there being called in in maner and to the effect forsaid And obey orders In maner specifyed And conforme to the tenor of the proclamatione emitted thereanent of the date the third day of march current
