Proclamation for adjourning the parliament

The following proclamation being Imediatly drawen In obedience to the above Letter Read votted and approven wes signed and ordered to be recorded, as followes William and Mary be the grace of God Kind and Queen of great Brittain France and Ireland defenders of the faith To our Lyon King at armes and his brethren Heraulds macers of our privie Councill messengers at armes our Shirreffs in that pairt Conjunctlly and severally specially constitute greeting Forasmuchas wee with the advyce of the Lords of our privie Councill did by our proclamatione of the date the tuenty fyfth day of February last by past adjourne the current parliament of this our ancient Kingdome of Scotland from the first day of this Instant moneth of march to the sixth day2 of Apryll next to come and whereas Ue3 are Informed that such frequent adjournments have begot ane opinion that our parliament is not to meet which may make the members the more slow to come at the tyme after appointed Therefor a tymous and positive advertisement is necessary And now In regaird the present state of our effairs in this our ancient Kingdome does requyre that our said parliament should meet and conveen at and upon the eighteenth day of the said moneth of Apryll next to come Wee with advyce of the Lords of our privie Councill doe hereby adjourne our said current parliament from the said sixth day of Apryll next to the eighteenth day of the same moneth At which tyme wee are resolved our parliament shall meet Hereby requyreing all the members of our parliament to give attendance at Edinburgh precisely on that day in the accustomed maner and under the certification contained in the severall acts of parliament and to the effect our new members may be elected for serving as Commissioners in the said parliament for shyres and burghes where these formerly elected and serving in this our Current parliament are deceissed wee with adyvce forsaid requyre the shirreffs of the shyres and stewarts of stewartryes or there respective Clerks where there are no shirreffs or stewarts magistrates and Councill of burghes Royall where the Comissioners formerly serving for them are decissed to proceed and make electione and choise of other Comissioners in the roume and place of these deceissed conforme to the acts of parliament made thereanent And make due Intimatione for electing the saids members In maner therein mentioned who are Lykewayes (when elected) hereby requyred to attend the said day Our Will is Herefore And wee charge yow strictly and command that Incontinent these our Letters seen ye pass to the mercat croce of Edinburgh And to the mercat crosses of the wholl heid burghes of the several shyres of this Kingdome and there in our name and authoritie by open proclamatione of the said adjournment of our current parliament of this our ancient Kingdome from the said sixth day of Apryll next to the eighteinth day of the samen moneth And ordaines these presents to be printed Given under our Signet at Edinburgh the tuenty seventh day of march and of our reigne the fourth year Jaj vjc nynty three years sic4 subscribitur ut in the sederunt except Sir Thomas Livingstoun.
