Warrand for examining the Lady Lockhart

The Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Being Acquanted by their Majesties Advocat That upon good Grounds and sufficient warrand which he offers to Instruct to their Lordships He caused search for the Lady Lockhart at Dredden and missing herself caused seall her papers And therafter having found her att Edinburgh hes put her under guairds in her oune Chamber and lykeuayes hes seased her dressing box and papers in her Chamber And hes Committed Captain James Patoune to the Guaird The saids Lords doe Heirby approve what the Lord Advocat hes done in this affaire And ordaines the saids persones to Continow prisoners till farder ordor of Councell And Recommends to the Lord Beilhaven Lord Advocat and Lord Justice Clark to examine the said Lady Lockhart and Captain Patoune and to take Inspectione of the papers and report to the Councell uith pouer to the Committie to Committ the said Captaine Patoune to such prisone as they shall think fitt And appoyntes Mr William Calderuood shirreff depute of Edinburgh and Mr Patrick Creichtoune servitor to the Clarks of Councell and Mr Robert Patersone servitor to the Lord Advocat to Goe to Dredden this afternoon and break up the sealls which are upon the trunks or Cabbinetts and take out the haill papers missive Letters and others which they shall find therin And Cause bring them to Edinburgh in one or moe trunks or Cabbinets and putt them in the hands of the Clarks of Councell ther to remaine untill they be inspected and furder ordor given theranent
