Protectione Bannatyne of Kaims

Anent the petitione Given In to the Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Be Hector Bannatyne of Kaimes Sheuing That wher ther is a most Groundless pursuit raised at the Instance of Thomas Craufurd of Craufurdsburne Against the petitioner for ane alleadged ryott pretending that the petitioner Hounded out severall persones to deforce the messengers whom Carseburn had Imployed to poynd the petitioners goods which of itself Is most Caluminous And as the Complaint is Groundles so It is most malicious In Carseburne who is a neighbour to take assignations to any debt due be the petitioner off purpose to distress him And altho the petitioner hes attended all this while upon the Calling of the said process and applyed to ther Lordships for discussing therof as may appear by a petitione given in to their Lordships lying in the hands of Mr Muncreiff one of their Lordships clerks yet notwithstanding therof the same was delayed to this tyme (their Lordships being taken up about some more weighty affairs) And seing the protectione formerly allowed be their Lordships to the petitioner is expyred And that he Cannot safely attend their Lordships or the dyetts of the said process or returne safely Home by reasone of severall personall dilligences by Captiones Against him for Civill debts uithout their Lordships be pleased to renue his protectione And therfore Humbly Craving their Lordships will be pleased to Consider the petitioners case and Circumstances and Renue his protectione for such a Competent tyme as their Lordships shall think fitt To the effect the petitioner may attend the discussing of the said process and may returne safely Home as the said petitione Bears The saids Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Having Considered this petitione Given in to them be the said Hector Bannatyne of Kaims They Heirby Grant personall protectione to the petitioner untill the Tuenty first day of november Instant Inclusive That he may attend the discussing of the said process And discharges all their Majesties Judges magistrats messengers at armes or officers within burgh or Landuard from putting any Letters of Caption Acts of warding or other personal dilligence to executione Against the petitioner untill the forsaid day Excepting alwayes their Majesties rents and publict dues sic subscribitur Tueeddale cancel: Southerland Linlithgow Tarbat Stair Beilhaven James Stewart W Anstruther T Livingstoune
