Att Edinburgh the Sixteinth Day off Februarij Jaj vjc nyntie three years

Liberation Viscount of Frendraught

Anent the petitione Given in to the Lords of there majesties privie Councill be Ludovick Viscount of Frendraught Shewing That where the petitioner haveing been alwayes prisoner in the Castles of Edinburgh and Stirling since the surrender of the Castle of Fedderett and haveing in the moneth of […] Last made application to the saids Lords for his Liberatione for some tyme for goeing to the north countrie about his private effairs And particularly for ordering some Important matters betuixt the petitioner and […] a very near relation who wes then dyeing which the saids Lords were graciously pleased to grant upon the petitioners finding Cautione to reenter the tuenty sixth instant And since the said […] hes never been yet in a capacity of doeing any effairs with the petitione By reasone of his great sicknes And that it will be one great loss to the petitioner If he be not present with him for setleing his effairs befor his death which is every moment expected And that the petitioners fortune being so mean And scarcely able to mantain him and his family even while they are at home Farr Less to defray the expenses of Comeing South and being Confyned to prisone whereby the petitioner will be obleidged to keep tuo familyes one in the north and aneother in prisone And neither is the petitioner able to defray the expenses of so frequent applicatione to the saids Lords in renewing of his baill If there Lordships Limite the petitioners day of reentrie to so short a tyme And therefore Craveing to the effect underwreitten as the said petitione bears The Saids Lords of there majesties privie Councill haveing Considered this petitione Given in to them be the2 above Lodovick Viscount of Frendraught They hereby allow the petitioner to Continow at Liberty In respect he hes found sufficient Cuatione acted in the books of privie Councill That he shall Live peaceably under And with all submissione to the present government of there majesties King William and Queen Mary And that he shall not act consult nor contryve any thing in prejudice thereof nor converse or correspond with any rebells And that he shall appear befor the saids Lords of privie Councill when Called for under the penalty of Fyve Hundreth pound sterling In case he shall transgress in any pairt of the premisses.
