Decreet
Sentence Against Mr John Cockburne
The Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Considering That Mr John Cockburne Late Minister at Ormiestoune presently prisoner in the tolbooth of Edinburgh Against whom Ther is a Lybell raised before their Lordships att the Instance of their Majesties advocat For Acting and Corresponding against the Government Being this day brought from prisone to the Councell barr And having heard redd over to him the abstract of the Letters were found uith him when he was seased Hes acknowledged the same And being requyred to suear and signe the alleadgance and signe the assurance to their Majesties appoynted by the Late Act of parliament Refuised soe to doe The Saids Lords ordaines the said Mr John to be Carryed back prisoner to the tolbooth of Edinburgh ther to remaine untill He Inact himself in the books of privie Councell That He shall depart furth of their Majesties dominiones betuixt and the first Councell day in Agust nixt and never to returne uithin the same uithout his Majesties or the Councells warrand under the penaltie of fyve thowsand merks And upon thus Inacting himself Gives ordor and warrand to the Magistrats of Edinburgh and Keeper of their tolbooth To sett the said Mr John at Liberty furth therof
