Craig of Riccartoune appoynted to be a Comissioner of Supplie in Edinburgh shyre

The Lords of there Majesties privie Councill Haveing Considered a petitione Given in to them be the Commissioners of Supplie in the shyre of Edinburgh They hereby allow the Earle of Lothian shirreff principall of the said shyre To call and conveen the Heretors of that shyre at such dyetts as he shall appoint That of there oune consent They may burden themselves with there respective proportiones of ane sallery such as the heretors shall willingly agree upon To be payed to a Commissarie chosen or to be chosen be them To the effect mentioned in petitione And to take all effectuall methods for doeing the particulars contined in the said petitione And the saids Lords nominates and apoints Robert Craig of Riccartoune to be one of the Comissioners of Supplie and Justices of piece within the said shyre In regaird […] Craig of Rickartoun his brother who wes one of the Commissioners of Supplie and Justices of peace within the said shyre is now deceissed With power to the said Robert Craig now of Rickartoune to Sitt doe and act as one of the Comissioners of Supplie and Justices of peace in the said shyre And to doe every thing that to the said office belongs as fully and freely as any other Comissioner of Supplie and Justice of peace within this Kingdome does or may doe He qualifyeing himself according to Law.

Craig of Riccarton appointed to be a commissioner of supply in Edinburgh shire

The lords of their majesties’ privy council having considered a petition given in to them by the commissioners of supply in the shire of Edinburgh, hereby allow the earl of Lothian, sheriff principal of the said shire to call and convene the heritors of that shire at such diets as he shall appoint, so that of their own consent they may burden themselves with their respective proportions of a salary such as the heritors shall willingly agree upon to be paid to a commissary chosen or to be chosen by them to the effect mentioned in the petition, and to take all effectual methods for doing the particulars contained in the said petition, and the said lords nominate and appoint Robert Craig of Riccarton to be one of the commissioners of supply and justices of peace within the said shire in regard […] Craig of Riccarton his brother who was one of the commissioners of supply and justices of peace within the said shire is now deceased; with power to the said Robert Craig now of Riccarton to sit, do and act as one of the commissioners of supply and justices of peace in the said shire and to do everything that to the said office belongs as fully and freely as any other commissioner of supply and justice of peace within this kingdom does or may do, he qualifying himself according to law.
