Their Majesties High Commissioner and Lords of privy Councell Doe Heirby Recommend to the Earle of Drumlangrig Earls of Argyle Leven Annandale and Forfar Lord Viscount Stair Lord Raith Thesaurer depute Lord Carmichaell Lord Beilhaven Lord Polluarth Lord Secretarie Lord Advocat Lord Justice Clark Mr Frances Muntgomery Sir John Maxuell and Sir Thomas Livingstoune or any fyve of them who are Heirby declared to be a Quorum To Consider what measures and methods are propper to be taken for securing the peace of the Natione and putting the same In a posture of defence suitable to the present exigences And to Consider what persones are fitt to be nominat for administrating the oath of alleadgance and assurance to the persons who are appoynted to take the same Before such as the Counsell shall nominat And to report to the Councell the morrow at their meeting in the forenoon
