Act Alexander Steuart brother to Ballachane and his sone

Anent the petitione Given In to the Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Be Alexander Steuart brother to the Laird of Ballachane and Alexander Steuart his sone Sheuing That the supplicants Having had the misfortune to be in the late rebellione And therafter Having gone to the remotest Islands of the Kingdome for their shelter They had noo nottice when their Majesties most bountifull and Gracious Indempnity was published so as to lay hold on the benefite therof in due tyme tho they were alwayes uilling to Give such evidences of their resolutiones to a dutifull submissione to their Majesties government that the Law requyres and the petitioners being for some considerable tyme Incarcerat in the tollbooth of the Cannongate And being most uilling to Give all assurance of their peacable behaviour for the future And therfore Humbly Craving their Lordships to take the premisses to their Consideratione And to Grant warrand for setting the supplicants at Libertie upon their taking the oath of alleadgance and signing the assurance And Giving bale for their peacable behaviour for the future or otherwayes to Grant the petitioners ane Aliment their whole subsistance being destroyed by the Army att Blaircastle as the said petitione bears The saids Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Having Considered this petitione given In to them Be the above Alexanders Steuarts They Heirby Recommend the petitioners to their Majesties mercy for a remissione upon their suearing and signing the oath of alleadgance and signing the Assurance And Giving bale for their peacable behaviour for the future That they shall Live peacablie under and uith all submissione to the present government of their Majesties King William and Queen Mary And that they shall not Act Consult or Contryve any thing in prejudice therof nor shall not Converss or correspond uith rebells under ane penaltie In case they shall transgress in any part of the premisses
