Proclamation for adjourning the parliament

The proclamatione underwreitten being Imediatly drawen In obedience to the forsaid Letter from His majestie for adjourning the parliament wes read votted and approven and signed and ordered to be recorded wheroff the tenor followes
William and Mary by the Grace of God King and Queen of Great Brittaine France and Ireland defenders of the faith To our Lyon King at armes and his brethren heraulds macers of our privie Councill pursevants messengers at armes our shirreffs in that pairt conjunctllie and severallie speciallie constitute Greeting Forasmuchas wee with advyce of the Lords of our privie Councill did by our proclamatione of the date the Fyfth day of Januarij Instant Adjourne the Current parliament of this our ancient Kingdome of Scotland from the2 seven3teinth day of Januarij Instant to the tenth day of Februarij next to come in this instant year of God Jaj vjc nyntie three years And now In regaird the present state of our effairs in this our said ancient Kingdome does not requyre the meeting of our parliament so soon And that the members of parliament may not be put to the trouble or charge of meeting on the said day wee therefore with advyce of the saids Lords of our privie Councill hereby adjourne our said Current parliament untill the first day of march the said year Hereby requyreing all the members of our parliament to Give attendance at Edinburgh on that day in the accustomed maner And under the Certificationes Contained in the severall acts of parliament Our Will is Herefore And wee Charge yow strictly and Command That Incontinent these our Letters seen ye pass to the mercat croce of Edinburgh And to the mercat crosses of the wholl heidburghes of the Severall shyres of this Kingdome And there in our Name and authority By open proclamation make publicatione of the said adjournment of our Current parliament of this our ancient Kingdome from the said tenth day of Februarij to the said first day of March both next to come And ordaines these presents to be printed Given under our signet at Edinburgh the last day of Januarij And of our reigne the fourth year Jaj vjc nyntie three years Sic Subscribitur Tweeddale cancel: Hamilton P: Melvill Linlithgow Strathmore Leven Forfar Tarbat Cardross Carmichaell James Stewart Adam Cockburne.4

Proclamation for adjourning the parliament

The proclamation underwritten being immediately drawn in obedience to the foresaid letter from his majesty for adjourning the parliament was read, voted and approved and signed and ordered to be recorded, wherof the tenor follows:
William and Mary by the grace of God king and queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland, defenders of the faith, to our Lyon King of Arms his brethren heralds, macers of our privy council, pursuivants, messengers at arms, our sheriffs in that part jointly and severally, specially constituted, greeting. Forasmuch as we, with advice of the lords of our privy council did by our proclamation of 5 January instant adjourn the current parliament of this our ancient kingdom of Scotland from 17 January instant to 10 February next to come in this instant year of God 1693, and now in regard that the present state of our affairs in this our said ancient kingdom does not require the meeting of our parliament so soon and that the members of parliament may not be put to the trouble or charge of meeting on the said day, we therefore with advice of the said lords of our privy council, hereby adjourn our said current parliament until 1 March the said year, hereby requiring all the members of our parliament to give attendance at Edinburgh on that day in the accustomed manner and under the certifications contained in the various acts of parliament. Our will is herefore and we charge yow strictly and command that immediately on seeing these our letters you pass to the mercat cross of Edinburgh and to the mercat crosses of all the head burghs of the various shires of this kingdom and there in our name and authority by open proclamation make publication of the said adjournment of our current parliament of this our ancient kingdom from the said 10 of February to the said 1 March both next to come, and order these presents to be printed. Given under our signet at Edinburgh 31 January and of our reign the fourth year 1693.
