Warrant

Warrand for transporting Gordon Davidson and Crightoun from Leith to Edinburgh and the advocat to persue them

The Lords of there Majesties privie Councill doe hereby give order and warrand to the magistrats of Edinburgh and Bailzies of Leith to transport George Gordon Robert Davidson and Alexander Crightoun priests prisoners in the tolbooth of Leith from that to the tolbooth of Edinburgh And appoynts the Magistrats of Edinburgh and Keeper of there tolbooth to receave and detaine the saids priests prisoners therein till further order of Councill And recomends to there majesties advocat to raise process before the Councill againest the above three preists and all other preists which his Lordship can have notice of that are under baill or prisoners in this Kingdome And particularly these in the Castle of Blackness To the effect that it being found proven that they are preists They may be banished the Kingdome.

The lords of their majesties’ privy council hereby give order and warrant to the magistrates of Edinburgh and bailies of Leith to transport George Gordon, Robert Davidson and Alexander Crichton, priests, prisoners in the tolbooth of Leith, from there to the tolbooth of Edinburgh; and they appoint the magistrates of Edinburgh and keeper of their tolbooth to receive and detain the said priests as prisoners therein till further order of council; and they recommend to their majesties’ advocate to raise process before the council against the above three priests and all other priests which his lordship can have notice of that are under bail or prisoners in this kingdom, and particularly those in the castle of Blackness, to the effect that it being found proven that they are priests they may be banished from the kingdome.
