Warrant

Warrand for Transporting Gipsies to Edinburgh Tolbooth.

Their Majesties high Commisioner and the Lords of privy Councill Doe heirby Ordaine the Gipsies presently prisoners in the tolbooth of Lanerk being four men with about Twentie women and Childrein to be transported to be transported from the said Tolbooth to Edinburgh, And Ordaines the baillies of Lanerk to deliver the saids persones to the shirreff of the shyre of his deputs and appoints them to be transported from shireff to shireff till they come to Edinburgh under a sufficient guard, And appoints the guard to deliver them prisoners to the magistrats of Edinburgh, And the magistrats to cause comitt the four men prisoners into the theives holl, And to putt the women and Childrein in sure prison in the Correction house of Edinburgh.
