Order for seizing Hugh Campbell and his ship

The Lords of there majesties privie Councill haveing heard and considered ane Complaint made to them be the tacksmen of there majesties Customes of the oppressions comitted be Hugh Campbell maister or Captain of a ship of some force said to belong to the Earle of Arguyll upon severall of the ships of the merchands of Glasgow tradeing in the river of Clyde By searching them and stopting and detaining them in there voyadges to the great obstructione of the traffique of this natione And detriment of there majesties revenue aryseing there from Therefor They hereby give power order and warrand to the tacksmen and Fermers of there majestyes Customes or any one of them and such as they2 shall Imploy (For Uhom they are to be ansuerable) To seize upon and secure the said Hugh Campbell Commander of the said ship and the ship under his Commnd And detain him in custody untill he find sufficient Cautione to appear befor the saids Lords of privie Councill upon the first tuesday of Apryll next And give ane accompt of his proceedings and ansuer for his oppressiones Comitted upon the merchand ships under the penalty of Ane Hundreth pound Sterling And to take the raes and sailles from the said ship and detain her in a safe harbor till his said appearance and the saids lords requyre and Comand all shirreffs of shyres magistrates of burghes and officers of there majesties forces to Concurr with and give assistance to the said tacksmen or any of them or these Commissionat by them in the speedie and punctuall executione of the premises as they will be anserable.
