Procedure
The Magistrats of Edinburgh Called and a Committie Anent Highwayes
The Councell Having Called for the Magistrats of Edinburgh Compeared The provost Baillie Baird and Baillie Boudone To whom the Councell did Intimat that they appoynted the Magistrats of Edinburgh To meet uith the Justices of peace on Munday nixt at ten of the clock in the Forenoon and deliberat uith them and take course anent repairing the high wayes about the toune of Edinburgh and Impositiones Granted for doing wherof And declared they uould ordor the shirreff deputes of Edinburgh to Call a meeting of the saids Justices of peace which shall be at sight of some of the privy Councellors whom they uill appoynte for that effect And Recommended to the Lord High Chancellor In name of the Councell to the shirreffs deputes of Edinburgh To the effect forsaid And appoyntes the said meeting to be at sight of the Earle of Forfar The Lord Viscount Tarbat and Lord Strathnaver The Letter being drauen was signed by the Lord Chancellor in face of Councell and the Councell appoynted the Lord Ballmerinoch to be warned by their Macers to be present at the said meeting
