Anent the Castle of Dunnotter

The occasione of Hastening the saids Letter and ordor was a Letter which was redd in Councell this day from Captaine William Reid to Sir Thomas Livingstoune Commander in cheiff who was sent uith a party of souldiers by Sir Thomas To be putt in possessione of the said castle by the Earle of Marishall for their Majesties service Giving account He hes mett uith delayes and he is affraid uill come to a flatt denyall And that he is Informed ther is a privateer lyes to and againe off the place extraordinary manned all Scotts and English in blew bonnetts and hes taken severall fisher boats That their Curiositie is to know how Dunnotter is garrisoned by the Kings forces or the Country and what provisiones and stores are in it
