Committie Mr Archibald Sinclair to take the oath of alleadgance and assurance

Anent the petitione given In to the Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Be Mr Archbald Sinclar Advocat Sheuing That the petitioner being necessarly called to the Country some few dayes before elapsing of the day appoynted for taking the oaths And falling sick ther He was not able to travell and attend the dyet as can be Instructed by a Letter wrote by the petitioner to the Laird of Suintoune at the same tyme quhich he Hopes uill take off all suspicione of Contumacy And Having formerly taken the oaths both as a member of parliament and shirreff depute of Edinburgh He does Humbly Conceave that he hes therby given sufficient prooffs of his zeall and affectione to their Majesties government to which he will ever most firmly adhere And therfore Humbly Craving to the effect underwryten as the said petitione Bears The saids Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Having Considered this petitione given In to them Be the above Mr Archbald Sinclar and missive Letter mentioned therin and produced theruith They allow the petitioner yet to qualifie himself as ane Advocat By suearing and signing the oath of alleadgance and signing the assurance before the Earle of Forfar and the Lord Beilhaven whom the Councell doe authorize and give uarrand to administrat the same to him one of the Clarks of Councell being present And upon the petitioner his qualifying himself as said is The saids Lords declares him to be In a Cappacitie to Follow furth his Imployment as ane Advocat and Enjoy the priviledge therof alse fully and freely as if he had qualified himself in that statione uithin the tyme prescribed be the Act of parliament
