Forfaulture of Valentine Brouns Bond
Their Majesties High Commissioner and Lords of privie Councell Doe Heirby declare the soume of ane thousand pounds scotts of penaltie contained In a bond Granted be Valentine Broune late prisoner In the Cannongate as principall and Androw Broune watchmaker In Edinburgh Cautioner Conjunctly and severally dated the fourth day of Jully Jaj vic nyntie for the said Valentine his reentering the tolbooth of the Cannongate and not going uithout the toune of Edinburgh To be Incurred In regaird both principall and Cautioner Have faillzied in observing the tearms of their bond And therfore they forfault the said penaltie And Decerns and ordains both principall and Cautioner forsaids conjunctly and severally To make payment to Sir Thomas Muncreiff of that ilk Collector of their Majesties Croune rents for their Majesties use of the said penaltie of ane thousand pounds scotts And ordaines horning on six dayes and others needfull to be direct in forme as effeirs
