Act The heritors of the Parish of Long-bryde
Anent a Petition given in to the Lords of their majesties privy Councill be the heritors of the parish of Longbride Shewing That quher by the 23d act 2d Session of their Majesties currant parliament all vaccant Stipends appoynted to be Imployed for2 pious3 uses within the parishin, And the kirk of Long-bryde hase been these severall years Lying in Rubbish And ther is no manse ther Bot what the late incumbent hade begun, to build on his oun charges and Which kirk and manse cannot be repaired and builded for two Thousand merks and upwards which would be ane unsupportable burdein to so Small a parishin which is not above Twentie five Chalders of victuall yearly Wherof four Chalders and ten bolls payable to the minister without one farthing of money the small viccaradge of the said parish being assigned as part of the provision of the minister of Alves, And the petitioners and their tennants being much Impowerished throw depredationes of the highlanders, constant payment of Localitie to their majesties forces and intertaineing them in their transient quarters without any payment therfore beside all other Impositiones by law And the said Church and manse being a pious and necessary work, and no other propable means left for doeing therof Unles the vaccand stipends be Imployed to defray a part of the charges therof And untill the samen be effectuat the people cannot enjoy the benefite of the ordinances within the said parishen Seing no minister will accept of a Call to such a mean stipend untill the Church and manse be first repaired and builded And Therfore Humbly Craveing the saids Lords to grant warrand to John Innes of Culdraine one of the heritors of the said parochin for uplifting the said vaccand stipends for the years Jaj vjc nyntie one and Jaj vjc nyntie two In Respect of the patrons consent therwith produced and he shall find suficient Caution that the same should be applyed for the uses forsaid, That the people may enjoy the benefite of the ordinances as said is, The Lords of their majesties privy Councill Haveing Considered this petition given in to them be the above heritors of the parish of Longbryde with the consent of the Patron mentioned therin and produced therwith They heirby allow to the petitioners the stipend of the above kirk of Longbryde for the haill cropts and years of god Jaj vjc nyntie one and Jaj vjc nyntie two And that for the repairing of the kirk of Longbryde and manse therof, And Nominats and Appoints John Innes of Culdrain to be factor for uplifting the saids two years Stipends, And Ordaines him to be readily answered obeyed and payed therof be the heritors fewars wodsetters and others Lyable in payment of the same And Ordaines letters of horning under the signet of Councill at his instance against them for that effect, He produceing a decreet of Localitie, And in caice ther be non Ordaines these Lyable to make payment of their respective proportiones of the Saids Stipends according as they shall be decerned by the Judge ordinary In Respect the said factor has found suficient Caution acted in the books of privy Councill that he shall enjoy the forsaids two years stipends upon the ends and uses forsaid
