Recomendation for securing the peace at Aberdeen
The Lords of there majesties privie Councill doe hereby recomend to Sir Thomas Livingstoun Comander in cheiff of there majestyes forces within this Kingdome to give order to Collonell Buchan now Lyeing with his regiment at Aberdeen to assist the magistrats of the said burgh as he shall be by them from tyme to tyme requyred alswell on Lords dayes as week dayes with giving them guairds or otherwayes for preventing and suppressing of all disorders and tumults that shall or may happen in that place And to secure the persones of such as shall be found accessory thereto and delyver there persones to the magistrates to be keept by them in safe custody till farther order And that the said Sir Thomas give orders to the troop of dragoons Lyeing next adjacent to the toun of Aberdeen to march to the old toun of Aberdeen and there to be quartered and give assistance to Colonell Buchan for secureing the peace of that place.
