Recommendatione to The Lord Advocat to speak with Sir Thomas Livingstoun Anent deficient men In Lanerkshire

The which day Sir James Steuart their Majesties Advocat Having acquanted the Lords of their Majesties privie Councell That the Lord Blantyre by his Letter to him Hes signified That the Commissioners of supplie uithin the shire of Lanerk had prepared the men wherin they uere deficient in the new Levies And were ready to have delyvered them at Glasgow upon the tuenty fourth day of Apryle Last by past Conforme to the saids Lords their order But that ther uere noe officers at that place appointed to receave them The saids Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Doe Heirby Recommend to the said Lord Advocat before procedure in this affaire to speak with Sir Thomas Livingstoune Commander in Cheiff of their Majesties forces uithin this Kingdome anent the same That the said Sir Thomas may appoint a new day and designe and house in Glasgow for delyvering and receaving of the above deficients That the Lord Advocat may signifie the same to the Commissioners of supplie of the said shire

The Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Doe heirby Recommend to the Lord high Chancelor to wryte to the secretaries of state And also to the Earls of Erroll and Kintoir And to Acquant them That the Lord Keith now Earle of Marischall For whose appearance when called these Earls are bale Hes taken Journey for London uithout acquanting the Councell And that after the said Earle had applied to the Lord High Chancelor for a pass who refuised to Give him any uithout acquanting the Councell In respect of his baile This was not subscribed Being a recomendatione to the Lord Chancelor himself

Warrand to The Commissioners of Lanerkshire anent the Levys of Glasgow Lanerk and Rutherglen

The Lords of their Majesties privy Councell Considering that ther being a petitione given in to them by The Magistrats and toune Counsell of2 Glasgow wherby the petitioners doe represent That seing the Commissioners and Heretors of the shire of Lanerk Doe declare that the Grounds upon which they did proceed in proportioning the third part of the present Levy of foot to the Burghs of the shire was upon the account The burghs were exeemed and did bear noe proportione of the former horse Levys They the saids petitioners are Content at this present exigent to bear this proportione upon the forsaid Consideration Least the present Levy be retarded They the saids Lords by their Delyverance of the tuenty seventh day of February Last upon the said petitione Have alloued and appointed the above Commissioners and Heretors to meet at Lanerk upon the fourteenth day of March Last And to take the petition to their Consideratione And make Just a setlement of the petitioners Just proportions as may prevent all debates in tyme Coming And to proportione the present foot Levy betuixt the burghs of Glasgow Lanerk and Rutherglen And The saids Lords being informed That albeit the day appointed for the meeting of the saids Commissioners and Heretors be already elapsed yet The saids Commissioners and Heretors Have not meet Therfor The saids Lords Doe Heirby off new allow and appoint the saids Comissioners and Heretors within the shire of Lanerk as yet to meet at Hamiltone or Glasgow In the optione of their Conveener upon the tuenty tuo day of May Instant To the effect and uith the power given to them by the said Interloquitor of the tuenty seventh day of February Last

The Lords of their Majesties privy Councell Doe heirby ordaine the Macers of Councell to Intimat to Michaell Midletoune sometyme Governour of the Bass That he acquant the whole persons whose names are given in by him in a List to the Councell as these who are Comprehended in the Capitulation anent the Bass and are to be transported to France To be in readines and prepare themselves for their voyage against the fifteenth day of may instant being the day appointed by the said Capitulation for that effect

Their Majesties High Commissioner and Lords of privie Counsell Doe Heirby Give ordor and uarrand to the Magistrats of Edinburgh and Keeper of their tolbooth To Sett at Liberty furth therof Andrew Ediesone taylior in Edinburgh […] Mathiesone […] and Pass Sungall a Blackmair who were all Imprisoned for being at the tumult in Edinburgh in the month of March last by past Each of the saids persones first Giving bond and finding sufficient Cautione acted in the books of privie Councell That they shall Live peacably under and uith all submissione to the present government of their Majesties King William and Queen Mary And that they shall not Act consult or Contryve any thing in prejudice therof And that they shall not Converss or Correspond uith any rebells nor be present at tumults and that they shall appear when called for each of them under the penaltie of five Hundred merks scotts a pece In caise any of them transgress In any part of the premisses

The uhich day […] Edmonstoune of Ednem and […] Glaidstones of that ilk who were seased by a pairtie and brought to the Counsell barr Being requyred to suear and signe the oath of alleadgance and subscribe the Assurance to their Majesties appoynted by Act of parliament And having refuised Their Majesties High Commissioner and Lords of privie Councell Doe Heirby ordaine them to be Carryed prisoners to the tolbooth of the Cannongate And Recommends to Sir Thomas Livingstoune Commander if cheiff of their Majesties forces uithin this kingdome To Cause transport them from the said tolbooth under a sufficient guaird to the Castle of Blackness And ordaines the Magistrats of Edinburgh Baillies of the Cannongate and keeper of their tolbooth to delyver them to And Recommends to the Earle of Linlithgow Governour of the said castle of Blackness And ordaines the Deputie Governour or nixt Commanding officer ther to receave the saids Lairds of Ednem and Gladstones from the said guaird and detaine them prisoners in the said castle till farder ordor of Councell
