Protection for the viscount of Kenmure

The Lords of there Majestyes privie Counsell haveing considered ane representatione made to them be […] viscount of Kenmure that the dayes of the protectione formerly allowed be there Lordships to him for securitie of his persone Dureing the dependence of ane suspension Given in be the viscount to there Lordships againest Margaret Rosper are now outrunne and that the said suspension is not yet discussed And therefor craveing that there Lordships would allow to him such farder tyme as they shall think fitt that he may attend the discussing of the said suspensione They hereby discharge Messengers at armes officers within burghs and all other officers of the Law within this kingdome to putt to executione any Letters of Caption or acts of warding againest the said viscount of Kenmure untill the […] day of March instsant Inclusive Excepting alwayes His Majestyes rents and publict dues Sic Subscribitur Tweeddale Cancel: J: p: d: Douglas Crafurd Mortoun Stair Polwarth

Protection for the viscount of Kenmure

The lords of their majesties’ privy council having considered a representation made to them by Alexander Gordon, viscount of Kenmure that the days of the protection formerly allowed by their lordships to him for security of his person during the dependence of a suspension given in by the viscount to their lordships against Margaret Rosper are now expired and that the said suspension is not yet discussed, and therefore craving that their lordships would allow to him such further time as they shall think fit; and so that he may attend the discussion of the said suspension, they hereby discharge messengers at arms, officers within burghs and all other officers of the law within this kingdom to put to execution any letters of caption or acts of warding against the said viscount of Kenmure until the […] day of March instant, inclusive, excepting always his majesty’s rents and public dues.
